Today was finally the day! Emily was discharged from the hospital at 2pm this afternoon.
We were there for both the 9:30 and 12:30 feedings. Technically she could have been discharged this morning, but the NICU was a zoo. They had 38 babies and more on it's way. I sadly didn't get to say good bye to my nurse friends at Ante because we had to be escorted out of the hospital. I guess I'll have to come back later to say hello. :)
At home, Hoku didn't even seem to notice Emily. I'm sure once the crying begins, she'll be more curious, hehe. For the most part, our make shift set up is working out pretty well. I've been doing everything in the bedroom, from diaper changes, to nursing/bottle feeding and pumping.
Not sure what triggered it, but Tyler finally let me read him books tonight! Yay, I may finally be making my way back into the routine of things. For both myself and with the ohana. The one thing I have yet to do is ... COOK. LOL!
I still have my alarms set for 12:30am, 3:30am, and 6:30am ... so I can be sure to feed Emily before she gets upset. Her cord fell off sometime this past night, noticed it in her shirt at the 3:30 am feeding.
Let's see how her very first full day at home goes.
