I went for 9:30 am feeding while Tyler and daddy got a hair cut. On my way in I stopped off at Antepartum, to visit the nurses there. A few of them didn't even recognize me, lol. We chatted and talked about how Emily was doing. There was a new lady in "my" room. Ironically, Michelle had her and made a joke about how weird it would be going into the room and not seeing me in there. It's nice to know I will be missed. :)
Darn, Emily had a dip in her heart rate during one of her bottle feedings last night. It was a recordable event and the neonatal pediatrician (I think that is what it is called), wants to keep her a few more days for observation. It isn't uncommon for this to happen since she was born 6 weeks early. It has to do with being able to breathe, suck and swallow ... which is something babies usually learn around week 34/35 in mommy's tummy. Since Emily is already out, she is learning this at real time, while feeding.
Emily is always snoozing pretty happily when I go to see her. I feel sort of bad having to wake her up when she looks so peaceful sleeping. After the temperature and diaper change, she seemed awake at first, but ended up sleeping eating at the left side for about 15 minutes. Then she took 25 ccs of breast milk from the bottle.
We decided to skip the 12:30 vitamin feeding and come back for the 3:30 one.
I am happy to report that my milk supply seems to be more these days. I hope it isn't a fluke.
For lunch I finally got to eat dim sum! I've been wanting it for a while, but it's not usually something people do take out for. Ahhh, it was VERY delicious. My eyes are still bigger then my appetite. hehe.
While Tyler napped we ran some errands. We went to carter's to get Emily a few newborn sized outfits, target for nursing bra's, and REI for Brad's diaper bag.
Made it back to the hospital just in time for the 3:30 feeding. Emily did 15 minutes each side and 22 ounces of milk. We hurried home where I pumped again and started cleaning up nursery.
Before I knew it, it was time for the 6:30 feeding. Emily did 10 minutes each side and 35 ounces of milk. This was our last feeding of the day.
Went to korean food dinner, another thing I was craving while at the hospital. YUMMY!
Back at home pumped @ 9:30, cleaned up MY room, talked to Tammy, ordered an ornament, talked to my mom, and played some games.
Stayed up for the 12:30 pumping and then set my alarm for the rest of the night.
