9/10

My first night in the hospital was as expected. People coming in to check on my ... hardly any sleep, lol. I was set up for more IV fluids and medication and being continuously monitored. Contractions have slowed down and baby was looking good. I was hungry, well maybe thirsty ... but was only given ice chips!

Dr teagle came in the morning to check up on things.
She ordered me on a clear liquid breakfast (chicken broth, Popsicle and apple juice)
and because things were looking so well, I was transferred from labor and delivery to antepartum. It was quite an experience, as I got to ride in my bed as they show in TV, lol. Little things that made my day exciting.

Brad also came in the morning ... he was heading up to the city to get his things for work, so he would be able to work from home in the coming days if need be.

My new room was definitely smaller than the suite at labor and delivery, but it did have a window. The nurses were just as nice. This could be my home for the next 5 weeks.

I was able to eat regular food for lunch and ordered an open face turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes, chocolate pudding and more Popsicles. The menu here is quite large and is pretty much like room service. I just call in what I want and 30 minutes later it is delivered to my room.

Dr teagle came back in the after noon and things were still looking good.
I was taken off the continuous monitoring and the baby heart beat and contraction monitor straps removed. I would get checked for 2 hours once a shift. However, I still have the thing on my leg to help with blood circulation because of the bed rest.

I watched a lot of TV and videos today. Brad set me up with my laptop, cell phone, Nintendo DS ...

For dinner I had clam chowder and chicken salad sandwich, ice cream and chocolate chip cookie. Most of the food is bland, so I have been adding salt and pepper. It's not awful, but not excellent.

So the Magnesium is known to make you feel like you have the flu. The odd thing was, when I got the first dose the first night in like 20 minutes, I didn't feel a thing. But now that I am on the drip system, I seem to be feeling it more. Tonight I felt absolutely AWFUL. My face was flushed, I was hot, my chest felt like it had lots of pressure. I told my nurse and cried. She took my vitals and everything looked okay. I didn't even have a temperature, even though I would haven't argued against it. I ended up sucking it up for a while, then took some tylenol and an Ambien to help me sleep. In the midst of all of this, I also had to get my 2nd steroid shot and was given prenatal vitamins and stool softeners.
